20/20 A First-person Video Game

In 2010, the FIFA World Cup drew more than three million physical spectators. As these civilians traveled home, they carried with them a disease unlike anything the world was prepared for. The infected didn't lose any limbs. They didn't turn into flesh-eating zombies. No, the only symptom of this infection was that affected males became infertile.

Fast forward two years. The elderly continue to pass away as fewer and fewer children are born. Livestock, who are also affected, become extinct as supplies exhaust and countries play out first-hand the Tragedy of the Commons. Governments collapse. Anarchy closes in on the Earth like a Boa Constrictor.
